I honestly do not know at this point. What do you think is the criteria he must meet to stay head coach of UGA?
SEC East Champs, SEC Champs, 10 wins....?
I honestly think we have a shot at winning the East, if we have a good recruiting class, maybe only a few will contribute, however, I bet the practices become much more intense and competive if we get a "DREAM TEAM".
I guess I will put it at 50% and vote yes, because Richt staying means we are going to have a good year in 2011. And I don't want to spend my entire spring and summer bitching about Richt being awful. Too depresssing for me.
I don't know what criteria is necessary. McGarity claims there is none, and I'm sure there is no hard and fast win total or championship requirement. It was more of a question of "what do you objectively or honestly think" than "what do you hope."
But if I had to say, what does Richt need to stay there, I would say 10 wins and playing for the SEC title. If he gets 9 wins plays for the title and loses, maybe it is a close call. Hard to imagine a guy getting canned after 9 wins and an SEC East title, but Maryland (who should have far fewer demands from their coach) fired Fridge after 9 wins and ACC Coach of the Year.
It will obviously be an eye-ball test of several different things by McGarity. But Richt needs multiple wins over the following: Boise St., Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and Auburn. And my guess is that if he loses three of those games, he's out.
Yeah I think objectively and honestly it is 50/50. And since I don't want to spend all of my time being the fan that talks about how much their team sucks I will say yes, he returns because we have a good year in 2011.
But honestly, I have no idea. It is a coin flip. No more no less.
Unfortunantly I think he'll be gone. I just don't think he can get it done anymore, I have lost faith. Frankly, I wish there were a way to clean house now and move on. Nothing personal against Richt, and he's done a fine job, I just think our program needs a shakeup.
My question to all those, other than High Schooler, that voted that Richt will be back in 2012: Do you think he will turn things around and we will have a good season, or do you think Adams/McGarity just don't have the balls to fire him?
